Set your preference to women-only and your feed only shows women looking in your area. It works both ways — you won't appear in men's feeds either. That's the default a lot of people want and most listing sites don't offer.
It isn't a substitute for meeting carefully. Verified means the phone number is real and the account isn't a duplicate. It doesn't mean vetted. Meet in public first, every time.
What to look at beyond the rent
The things that decide whether a flatshare works are boring and specific, and they're worth being blunt about in the first conversation.
The single most common source of conflict. Ask what's normal in the flat now, not what's allowed in theory.
How late people come home, whether there's a gate closing time, whether the building has security and lighting on the approach.
Not a personality question. Ask who cleans what, how often, and whether there's help.
Veg-only, non-veg, or mixed kitchen. Easier to agree now than to renegotiate later.
Where women tend to look in Pune
Pune's student and working markets overlap more than most cities, which means more mixed-age flatshares. That suits some people and not others — worth deciding which you want before you start.

Kothrud and Viman Nagar have the largest number of women already sharing, which makes finding a match faster. Baner's amenity buildings are the usual choice if controlled entry matters to you.
Flatshare or a women's PG?
Both work and they suit different people.
- A women's PG handles meals and cleaning, usually has security and a gate timing, and needs no flatmate hunting. It costs less to start and gives you less freedom.
- A flatshare gives you your own room, a kitchen, no curfew and people you chose. Split three ways it's often cheaper than a PG, but you have to find the right people.

What to ask on the first call
Ten minutes on a call saves you a year of regret. These are the questions worth asking before you agree to view anything, and the answers tell you more than the flat will.
- Who else lives here, and how long have they been here? High turnover in a flatshare is a signal.
- Why is the room free? Someone moved cities is fine. Someone left suddenly is worth a follow-up question.
- What's the guest policy in practice? Not what's allowed — what actually happens on a Saturday.
- Who cleans, and how often? Is there help, who pays, and what's expected of you.
- What's the total monthly number? Rent plus maintenance plus water plus electricity plus internet. Get all of it.
- What's the deposit and when do I get it back? Ask for the refund terms in writing before you pay anything.
- Is there a gate timing or a landlord living downstairs? Both change how the place actually feels.
- How do I get home at 10pm? The walk from the metro or the auto stand, and whether it's lit.
If someone is evasive on the money questions or pushes you to pay before viewing, that's your answer. Walk.
What it actually costs to move in
The rent is the small number. The move-in cost is what catches people out, and it's worth budgeting for properly before you start looking.

Can I see only women on Bunkd?
Yes. Set your preference to women-only and your feed shows only women looking nearby. It's symmetric, so you don't appear in men's feeds either.
Are the profiles verified?
Every account is phone-verified, which stops duplicate and throwaway profiles. That is not a background check, so still meet in a public place first and take your time.
What if someone makes me uncomfortable?
Block them and they vanish from your feed and your matches immediately. You can also report the profile — every report is reviewed and reporting stays anonymous.
Is it cheaper than a women's PG?
Usually, once you split a 2BHK or 3BHK. A PG bed is cheaper on its own but you get a bed rather than a room, plus house rules and often a curfew.
Do I have to share my phone number?
No. Chat happens inside the app and your number stays private unless you decide to share it.
