Flatmates & Roommates in Hadapsar, Pune
Updated 30 Sep 2026
Hadapsar is the cheap way to live next to two of the city's biggest office clusters. It sits on Solapur Road, an old industrial belt that grew into a full town of its own, and it has the lowest rents in the eastern half of Pune for a reason: the roads are crowded, the buildings are a patchwork of old and new, and nobody markets it. If you work at Magarpatta Cybercity or in Kharadi and would rather keep ₹4,000 a month than pay for a shinier address, this is where the sums work.
Who lives here
Mostly first- and second-job professionals from Magarpatta and Kharadi offices, staff from the Hadapsar industrial estate and nearby hospitals, and students at the coaching and diploma institutes along Solapur Road.
Who works here. Magarpatta Cybercity and SEZ (next door), the Hadapsar industrial estate, the Serum Institute of India at Manjri, Noble Hospital, and the Kharadi offices reachable via the bypass.
Where to live, area by area
Rents below are indicative ranges for a private room in a shared flat, before deposit. Confirm the number with the person before you commit to anything.
The original town centre, with the bus depot, the market and the railway station within reach. Loud, busy and the most connected by public transport. Rooms are mostly in older buildings, and a PG bed is easier to find than a flat with a spare room.
₹5,500 – ₹9,500 / month for a private room
The residential belt behind the main road. Reasonable 1BHK and 2BHK stock, quieter lanes, and a bus or share-auto to Magarpatta. Most of the flatmate ads you will see for Hadapsar are from here.
₹6,000 – ₹10,500 / month for a private room
Cheap and functional, mainly used by people working in the factories and warehouses. Fine if your office is here; poor if you are hoping for cafes or a walkable evening.
₹5,000 – ₹8,500 / month for a private room
The recently built stretch toward Manjri. Larger societies with lifts, parking and 3BHK units suited to a group of three. The trade is distance: you are further from the Magarpatta gate and dependent on a two-wheeler.
₹7,500 – ₹13,000 / month for a private room
How long it actually takes to get places
| Destination | Typical time |
|---|---|
| Magarpatta Cybercity | 10–20 min by two-wheeler; the Magarpatta Road gate queue at 9am is the slow part |
| Kharadi / EON IT Park | 25–45 min via Kharadi Bypass or Mundhwa; the Bypass is the choke point |
| Pune railway station | 35–55 min by road; Hadapsar has its own station with a limited number of trains |
| Hinjewadi | Not a workable daily commute; expect 90 minutes or more each way |
What it actually costs per month in Hadapsar
Rent is the number people compare, and it is rarely the number that decides anything. This is the realistic all-in figure for one person sharing a flat in Hadapsar.
| What you pay | Typical range |
|---|---|
| Room rent (private, shared flat) | ₹5,500 – ₹13,000 |
| Deposit (one-off) | ₹11,000 – ₹26,000 |
| Maintenance & utilities | ₹1,200 – ₹2,500 |
| Food | ₹4,500 – ₹7,000 |
| Local transport | ₹800 – ₹2,500 (fuel, or a share-auto and bus mix) |
| Realistic monthly total | ₹12,000 – ₹24,000 |
The deposit is the part that catches people out — Pune commonly asks two months up front and some landlords ask more. Read the security deposit guide before you hand anything over, and get the refund terms written on the receipt.
Flatmate, roommate or PG — which one do you actually want?
The words get used interchangeably and they are not the same thing, which matters when you are searching.
- A flatmate shares the flat but has their own room. You split rent and bills, cook or order separately, and keep your own space. This is what most working professionals in Hadapsar mean when they say flatmate.
- A roommate shares the room itself. Cheapest option by a wide margin — often 40 to 50 percent less than a private room — and common among students and first-jobbers who are saving hard.
- A PG gives you a bed with meals and cleaning handled, plus house rules and often a gate timing. Simpler to start, less freedom, and once you split a flat three ways the cost difference usually disappears.
Bunkd covers all three. You set whether you want your own room or are happy sharing one, and the matching works the same way either direction. If a PG is what you are after, the honest PG versus flatshare comparison is worth five minutes before you sign.
When to look
Hadapsar has no single rush month. It follows two cycles: IT onboarding batches at Magarpatta and Kharadi, which tighten stock from January to March and again in July and August, and the industrial shift-work population, which turns over quietly all year. The practical effect is that good rooms in the newer Manjri Road towers go within days, while the older stock stays listed for weeks and lets you negotiate.
What to check before you pay anything
- Ask which side of Solapur Road the flat is on. Crossing it at rush hour on foot is genuinely difficult and shapes your evenings.
- Check the water supply in Gadital and Sasane Nagar; some lanes rely on tankers in April and May.
- Confirm whether the rent includes society maintenance. In the older buildings there may be none, in the Manjri towers it is often extra.
- Walk the lane at night before paying a deposit. Street lighting and the state of the road vary a lot between lanes.
- Ask where you will park a two-wheeler. Older Hadapsar buildings may only offer street parking.
Finding the person, not just the room
Most flatshares fail on lifestyle, not on rent. Bunkd asks the things that actually decide whether living together works — sleep schedule, cleanliness, social battery, guest policy, food preference and your one real dealbreaker — and matches on those. You swipe through people, match when it is mutual, and chat inside the app before anyone shares a phone number.
If you have not found a flat yet, Squad Mode lets you match with other people searching in Hadapsar so you can pool budgets and take a 2BHK or 3BHK together. Splitting a bigger flat is almost always cheaper per person than renting a single room alone — the rent split calculator works out a fair division when the rooms are not the same size.

Common questions
How much is a room in a shared flat in Hadapsar?
A private room in a shared flat is roughly ₹5,500 to ₹13,000 a month. Ramtekdi and Hadapsar Gaon are at the low end, the Manjri Road towers at the top. A shared room or PG bed is often ₹4,000 to ₹7,000.
Is Hadapsar a good place if I work at Magarpatta?
It is the affordable choice. The commute is 10 to 20 minutes on a two-wheeler, but the roads are congested and you give up the walkable convenience of living inside the township.
Hadapsar or Kharadi for a shared flat?
Hadapsar is cheaper and more local; Kharadi is newer and closer to EON. If your office is at Magarpatta, choose Hadapsar. If it is at EON or WTC, Kharadi or Chandan Nagar is the shorter ride.
Are there PGs in Hadapsar for girls?
Yes, mostly around Gadital and Hadapsar Gaon. Visit in person, ask about entry curfew and CCTV, and prefer a place where the owner lives on site. Squad Mode lets you team up with other women first.
Is Bunkd free for Hadapsar rooms?
Yes. Signing up, swiping, matching and chatting are free, and there is no brokerage on any listing.
