Flatmate, roommate or PG — which one do you actually want?

The words get used interchangeably and they are not the same thing, which matters when you are searching.

• Ask which side of the ORR the flat sits on — it changes the commute to the Financial District materially.
• Confirm water supply. The Gachibowli and Tellapur belt is heavily borewell and tanker dependent in summer.
• Many gated communities here require a registered rental agreement and police verification per occupant.
• Check whether maintenance is included; in the DLF-side towers it runs ₹2,500 to ₹4,500.
• If you are a student, confirm the landlord actually rents to students — several Nallagandla societies prefer families.
