Flatmates & Roommates in Dhanori, Pune

Updated 30 Sep 2026

Dhanori is the newest layer of the airport belt: a former village on Alandi Road and the Lohegaon side where large new residential societies have gone up. Because it is built out recently, you find more lifts, parking and 2BHKs than in older Vishrantwadi, at rents that stay below Viman Nagar. It is not a walkable neighbourhood with cafes and pubs, and the roads are still catching up with the population, so you are buying space and price at the cost of convenience.

Who lives here

Young couples and small groups pooling for a 2BHK, airport-side and logistics staff, IT workers who commute to Viman Nagar and Kharadi by two-wheeler, and residents priced out of Viman Nagar.

Who works here. Pune airport and its cargo and ground-handling staff, Bhosari MIDC, the Viman Nagar retail and offices, and IT tenants at Kharadi for those willing to make the commute.

Where to live, area by area

Rents below are indicative ranges for a private room in a shared flat, before deposit. Confirm the number with the person before you commit to anything.

Dhanori Gaon

The old village core on the main road. Local, busy, and cheapest, with older buildings and easy autos to Alandi Road. Rooms come up here more quickly than in the societies.

₹5,000 – ₹8,500 / month for a private room

Lohegaon Road stretch

The road toward Lohegaon and the airport. Mixed newer and older stock, and a short ride to the airport. Flight-path noise on some blocks.

₹5,500 – ₹9,500 / month for a private room

Kalas and the Alandi Road frontage

Toward Vishrantwadi. Better bus links, a mix of new and old towers, and a lot of flats aimed at families.

₹6,000 – ₹10,000 / month for a private room

New society clusters inside Dhanori

The gated projects with clubhouses and 2BHK and 3BHK units. The best value if you have a group of three, and the place where most shared-flat listings come from.

₹7,000 – ₹10,500 / month for a private room

How long it actually takes to get places

Bhosari MIDC30–50 min via Alandi Road; heavy goods traffic

What it actually costs per month in Dhanori

Rent is the number people compare, and it is rarely the number that decides anything. This is the realistic all-in figure for one person sharing a flat in Dhanori.

What you payTypical range
Room rent (private, shared flat)₹5,000 – ₹10,500
Deposit (one-off)₹10,000 – ₹21,000
Maintenance & utilities₹1,000 – ₹2,300
Food₹4,500 – ₹6,500
Local transport₹1,000 – ₹2,500
Realistic monthly total₹11,000 – ₹20,500

The deposit is the part that catches people out — Pune commonly asks two months up front and some landlords ask more. Read the security deposit guide before you hand anything over, and get the refund terms written on the receipt.

Flatmate, roommate or PG — which one do you actually want?

The words get used interchangeably and they are not the same thing, which matters when you are searching.

Bunkd covers all three. You set whether you want your own room or are happy sharing one, and the matching works the same way either direction. If a PG is what you are after, the honest PG versus flatshare comparison is worth five minutes before you sign.

When to look

New towers in Dhanori are finished in batches, so rooms become available in bursts when a project is handed over rather than on an academic or hiring calendar. Owners of new flats often want tenants quickly, which makes the months after a possession date a good time to negotiate. June to August sees the most demand from students and new joiners.

What to check before you pay anything

Finding the person, not just the room

Most flatshares fail on lifestyle, not on rent. Bunkd asks the things that actually decide whether living together works — sleep schedule, cleanliness, social battery, guest policy, food preference and your one real dealbreaker — and matches on those. You swipe through people, match when it is mutual, and chat inside the app before anyone shares a phone number.

If you have not found a flat yet, Squad Mode lets you match with other people searching in Dhanori so you can pool budgets and take a 2BHK or 3BHK together. Splitting a bigger flat is almost always cheaper per person than renting a single room alone — the rent split calculator works out a fair division when the rooms are not the same size.

Common questions

How much is a room in a shared flat in Dhanori?

A private room is roughly ₹5,000 to ₹10,500 a month. Dhanori Gaon is cheapest, the newer society clusters most expensive. A shared room is typically ₹3,500 to ₹6,500.

Is Dhanori safe and well connected?

Main roads have buses and autos, and the society clusters have security. It is less connected than Viman Nagar, so a two-wheeler makes life much easier.

Dhanori or Vishrantwadi?

Dhanori has newer buildings and more 2BHK stock. Vishrantwadi is older but better connected. If you want space and a modern building, Dhanori. If you want easy transport, Vishrantwadi.

Can three people share a 2BHK or 3BHK here?

Yes, and it is the best value in the airport belt. Squad Mode helps you find other seekers first, then look for a flat together.

Is Bunkd free in Dhanori?

Yes. It is free to use and there is no brokerage.
