Welcome to Bunkd. By creating an account, verifying your phone number, or swiping on our platform, you agree to these legally binding terms. Please read them carefully.

1. The "Platform Nature" of Bunkd

Bunkd is a peer-to-peer discovery tool, not a real estate agency, broker, or background check service. We provide the swipe-based technology to introduce users to potential roommates ("Matches"), but:

• We do not verify the criminal background of users.
• We do not inspect the physical condition of rooms listed by Hosts.
• We are not a party to any lease, rent payment, or financial agreement between users.

2. User Conduct & Zero Tolerance

To keep the Bunkd community safe, you agree NOT to:

• Post photos that are sexually explicit, violent, or belong to someone else.
• Use the platform to solicit money, sell products, or promote external businesses.
• Harass, bully, or discriminate against users based on race, religion, gender, or orientation.

We use automated systems and user reports to monitor conduct. Violation of these rules will result in an immediate, permanent ban from the platform without appeal.

3. Content Ownership & License

You retain ownership of the photos you upload. However, by uploading them, you grant Bunkd a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and adapt your content solely for the purpose of operating the swipe feed and chat services.

4. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS." WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

IN NO EVENT SHALL BUNKD OR ITS DEVELOPERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: PROPERTY DAMAGE, FINANCIAL LOSS, OR PERSONAL INJURY RESULTING FROM COMMUNICATIONS OR MEETINGS WITH OTHER USERS.

5. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time via the Profile Settings dashboard. Upon deletion, your data will be permanently wiped from our servers.

6. Personalization & Relevant Offers

By creating a Bunkd account and accepting these terms, you consent to Bunkd processing your profile data (role, location, preferences, lifestyle tags, move-in timing, in-app activity) to:

• Personalize your match recommendations and the order in which profiles appear in your swipe feed.
• Display relevant offers from third-party partners (for example, moving services, furniture rental, internet providers, home essentials) tailored to your situation. These offers appear inside the Bunkd app — you choose whether to engage with them.
• Show third-party advertising (including Google AdSense and equivalent programmatic networks) on free-tier accounts. Premium subscribers do not see feed advertising.
• Measure how you interact with matches, offers, and ads to improve relevance and product quality over time.

We do not sell your name, phone number, or email address to any third party without your separate, explicit consent. When we share aggregated, qualified lead data with B2B partners (e.g. movers, furniture rental companies), it is done with prior consent and is governed by our Privacy Policy.

You can withdraw this consent at any time from Profile Settings → Privacy Preferences. Withdrawing consent does not affect your matches, chats, or core app functionality, but it will reduce the relevance of the offers and ads you see.

7. Advertising & Third-Party Networks

Bunkd uses Google AdSense and may add additional advertising partners over time. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to Bunkd and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising:

• For Google: visit Google Ads Settings.
• For other participating vendors: visit aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.com.

Opting out of personalized ads does not stop ads from being shown — it only stops them from being tailored to you based on your browsing history.

8. Premium Subscriptions & RBI E-Mandate

Bunkd offers paid subscription tiers (Bunkd+, Bunkd Gold, Bunkd Platinum, Bunkd Host) processed via Razorpay in India (INR) and Paddle internationally (Paddle.com Market Ltd acts as Merchant of Record, GBP and other currencies). Subscriptions auto-renew on a weekly, monthly, or annual basis until you cancel. You may cancel any subscription from Profile → Settings → Manage Subscription at any time — your premium features remain active until the end of the current billing period.

8.1 Reserve Bank of India E-Mandate Framework

Recurring debits on Indian cards and UPI are governed by the Reserve Bank of India's e-mandate framework. By starting a recurring subscription on Bunkd you authorise the following, in addition to the standard Razorpay merchant terms shown at checkout:

• Additional Factor of Authentication (AFA) at registration. The first transaction will require a one-time password from your bank to register the mandate on your card or UPI ID.
• Automatic recurring debits up to ₹15,000. Subsequent monthly/weekly/annual debits at or below ₹15,000 will execute automatically on the scheduled billing date without an OTP, per RBI Circular DPSS.CO.PD No.1324/02.23.001/2019-20.
• 24-hour pre-debit notification. You will receive an email and (where available) SMS notification at least 24 hours before each automatic recurring charge, stating the amount, the billing date, and a one-click link to cancel the subscription before the debit occurs.
• Cancellation effect. Cancelling before the debit date stops that charge and ends the subscription at the current period's end. Cancelling after the debit date stops the next charge but does not refund the current period (see Refund Policy below).
• Debits above ₹15,000. For any charge above ₹15,000 we will request a fresh AFA from you 24 hours before debit. If you do not authenticate, the charge will not be processed and the subscription will lapse.

8.2 Refunds & Cancellation

Detailed eligibility, timelines, and the request process are set out in our Refund & Cancellation Policy. In short: subscriptions are non-refundable for partially-used billing periods (your access continues until period end). Specific situations like duplicate charges, failed transactions still debited, and bona-fide service failures are eligible for refund per that policy. À la carte consumable packs (Super Likes, Boosts, Rewinds, Message-Before-Match credits, Passport day-passes) are non-refundable once delivered to your wallet.

8.3 Grievance Escalation

If your refund or billing question is not resolved by refunds@getbunkd.in within the timelines stated in the Refund Policy, you may escalate to our Grievance Officer per the Grievance Redressal Mechanism.

8.4 UK & International Consumers

If you purchase from the United Kingdom or the EU, the following applies in addition to the above (and prevails where it conflicts):

• Prices include tax. Prices shown at checkout are inclusive of UK VAT and any applicable sales tax. Paddle.com Market Ltd, as Merchant of Record, is responsible for collecting and remitting that tax and will issue your receipt/invoice.
• 14-day right to cancel. Under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 (and equivalent EU law) you normally have 14 days to cancel a purchase of digital services for a refund.
• Consent to immediate performance. Because Bunkd’s premium features and consumable credits are digital content supplied immediately, by completing checkout you expressly request immediate performance and acknowledge that you lose the 14-day right to cancel once the service has been fully supplied / the credits delivered. For subscriptions, where service has only partly been provided you may still cancel future renewals at any time as described above.
• How to cancel / refunds. Manage or cancel from Profile → Settings → Manage Subscription, or contact support@getbunkd.in. Statutory rights that cannot be excluded are unaffected by these Terms.
• Governing law. For consumers resident in the UK/EU, these Terms are governed by the laws of [GOVERNING LAW JURISDICTION], without depriving you of the mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence.

9. Data Protection & Privacy

Our handling of your personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes the categories of data we collect, your rights as a Data Principal under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, our retention schedule, and breach notification commitments. By accepting these Terms you confirm that you have read and understood the Privacy Policy.

10. Suspension & Removal of Content

Bunkd may, in its discretion, suspend or remove a profile, listing, photo, or chat that violates these Terms, applicable Indian law, or a legitimate regulatory or grievance order, with or without prior notice. Suspended content is removed from public feeds immediately. Suspended account holders are notified by email and may appeal via the Grievance Officer.
