Refund & Cancellation Policy
Effective Date: June 1, 2026
Bunkd sells two distinct categories of digital goods:
- Recurring premium subscriptions (Bunkd+, Bunkd Gold, Bunkd Platinum, Bunkd Host) billed weekly, monthly, or annually.
- One-time consumable packs (Super Likes, Boosts, Rewinds, Message-Before-Match credits, Passport day-passes).
Refund and cancellation rules differ between the two categories. This page explains each in full.
Quick Summary
Subscriptions: Cancel any time. Access continues until the end of the current billing period. We do not issue pro-rated refunds for partially-used billing cycles.
Consumable packs: Non-refundable once delivered (credits land in your wallet within seconds of payment). Unused credits never expire (except Passport day-passes, which expire by definition).
1. Subscription Cancellation
You may cancel any active subscription at any time from Profile → Settings → Manage Subscription. Cancellation is instant — no email or form required.
1.1 What happens when you cancel
- Your subscription is marked as cancelled at the next billing date.
- You retain full access to premium features until the end of the current paid billing period.
- After the period ends, your account drops to the free tier automatically. No further charges are made.
- Your saved profile, matches, and chats remain intact. Only the premium features (Boost, Super Likes, Passport, etc.) are gated.
1.2 RBI E-Mandate & Pre-Debit Notification
Subscriptions are charged on your registered card or UPI ID via Razorpay under the Reserve Bank of India's e-mandate framework. As required by RBI guidelines for recurring debits:
- The first transaction requires an Additional Factor of Authentication (AFA) — typically a one-time password (OTP) from your bank — to register the mandate.
- Subsequent recurring debits up to ₹15,000 execute automatically without an OTP.
- You will receive a pre-debit notification at least 24 hours before each automatic charge, via email and/or SMS, containing the charge amount, billing date, and a one-click link to cancel.
- Clicking the cancel link before the debit date stops that charge and ends the subscription at the current period's end.
2. Refund Eligibility — Subscriptions
Bunkd subscriptions are generally non-refundable once the billing period begins, because you receive immediate access to digital benefits (unlimited swipes, instant Likes reveal, daily Super Likes, monthly Boosts, etc.) that cannot be returned.
We will, however, issue a refund in the following specific cases:

We do not issue refunds for:
- Change of mind after benefits have been consumed (e.g. Super Likes already sent, Boost already activated).
- Partially-used billing cycles when you cancel — your access continues until period end, which is the consideration for the payment.
- Inability to find a match. Matching depends on the other users on the platform and is never guaranteed.
- Account suspension or ban resulting from a violation of our Terms of Service.
3. Refund Eligibility — Consumable Packs
One-time consumable purchases (Super Like packs, Boost packs, Rewind packs, Message-Before-Match packs, Passport day-passes) are final and non-refundable from the moment the credits are delivered to your account.
This is because:
- Credits are delivered instantly (within seconds of Razorpay confirming payment).
- Consumable credits are digital goods that cannot be returned, repossessed, or "undone" once granted.
- Unlike subscriptions, there is no recurring billing period to pro-rate — you paid for X credits and you received X credits.
Exceptions (full refund of the unused credits):
- Duplicate or failed-but-debited transaction.
- Credits were never delivered to your wallet due to a Bunkd backend failure (verifiable via our consumable-orders audit log).
- You were suspended by Bunkd in error within 24 hours of purchase, with the credits unused.
4. How to Request a Refund
Email refunds@getbunkd.in with:
- The phone number or email registered on your Bunkd account.
- The Razorpay transaction reference (visible in the bank/UPI message you received).
- A short explanation of why you are requesting the refund, mapped to one of the eligible scenarios above.
We acknowledge every refund email within 2 working days. Approved refunds are processed back to the original payment method within 7 working days of approval. Bank/card settlement typically takes another 3–7 working days, depending on your issuing bank.
5. Chargebacks & Disputes
Please contact us first. Filing a chargeback with your bank without first emailing
refunds@getbunkd.in often delays resolution by weeks and may result in your Bunkd account being suspended while the dispute is investigated. We resolve almost every legitimate refund request directly, faster, and without paperwork.
If you do file a chargeback, we will respond to your bank with our records (signed Razorpay receipts, delivery logs, in-app consumption logs). Fraudulent chargebacks may result in a permanent ban from the platform.
6. Grievance Escalation
If your refund request is denied and you believe the denial is incorrect, you may escalate to our Grievance Officer per the Grievance Redressal Mechanism, in compliance with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines) Rules, 2021 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
7. Policy Updates
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes (e.g. tightening of eligibility) will be communicated via in-app notice and email at least 14 days before they take effect. The "Effective Date" at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
